Künstlergespräch im KEX Studio

“At the beginning of the twentieth century, Dr Du Bois put Western World on notice that the problem of the twentieth century was the problem of the colour line, the relationship of the western world with peoples of colour in Africa and Asia and the islands of the seas. Years later, he wrote, with even greater certainty: Most men in the world are coloured. A belief in humanity means a belief in coloured men. The future world will, in all reasonable possibility, be what coloured men make it.”

In Kollaboration mit der Nubuke Foundation in Accra (Ghana) wurde Serge Attukwei Clottey als Artist-in Residenz der Kunsthalle Exnergasse eingeladen und ist bis Dezember 2013 Gast im KEX Studio.
In Performances, mixed-media Installationen und Malerei beschäftigt sich Clottey mit Problematiken in Umwelt, Politik und Kultur. Lebt und arbeitet in Accra.

Lisl Ponger arbeitet über Stereotype, Rassismen und Blickkonstruktionen an der Schnittstelle von Kunst, Kunstgeschichte und Ethnologie in den Medien Fotografie, Film und Installation.
Lebt und arbeitet in Wien.
