Purrr!_Femme!-ance! - Aktionen, Performances & Kuchen

Purrr! _Femme! -ance! is an event aimed at discussing (the subversive potential of) queer femininities through action. It is organised and curated by Julischka Stengele, degree candidate of post-conceptual art practices, in the frame of the Rundgang 2015 - the annual exhibition of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Feminine ≠ feminist? Lipstick = hetero(sexual/normative)? Femme minus Butch = zero? And naked skin is a NoGo, anyways? Students, alumni and guests from different fields will show, that these equations don’t work. The subversive potential of feminine forms of expression is explored in various presentations, ranging from self-ironical to critically deconstructive.
