Artist Talk - DIGITALE KUNST: SUSANA MOUZINHO and V-A. STUDIO

RAUM, a project by Terceiro Direito, is a platform that hosts artistic residencies online that are the result of proposals created specifically for the platform. It involves several artistic and cultural agents, from artists to art schools, from publishing projects to museums. Focused on contemporary artistic creation and the specificities of the online environment, it seeks to engage and develop a creative and critical production and reflection on art within the specificities of the digital environment.

v-a studio, represented by its members João Martins, João Simões and João Sousa, will present the outcome of their residency ?Variations on Strings? where they explored a non-linear and infinite narrative to create several random sentences from fragments of three selected books. Besides presenting the project conceived for the online platform, v-a studio, being the graphic designers and web developers of the platform, will talk about the process of conceiving the online residencies and the new possibilities that can emerge from a collaboration between all the agents: the curator, the artist and the graphic designers as a new agent in the creative process.

Short biography:
Susana Mouzinho is a PhD candidate in Artistic Studies – Arts and Mediation; member of Terceiro Direito, the not-for-profit behind the projects raum and wrong wrong. Is a filmmaker and photographer.

v-a is a communication design studio, based in Lisbon and New York, dedicated_ to the creation of unique visual solutions on both print and digital mediums. Since its foundation, in 2009, the studio has focused in the creation of multi-disciplinary projects as well as self initiated projects (www.v-a.pt).
