Meet and Greet Judith Milz

You are cordially invited to meet Artist in Residence Judith Milz, who will talk about her artistic practice in general and her proposed project for the residency. What are the goals for her time in Vienna and how does she deals with the contested notion of “artistic research”?

Judith Milz, born in 1989, studied at University of Arts and Design Karlsruhe and at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig (HGB Leipzig). She has a strong interest in archiving, processing, editing, and visualizing stories and histories dealing with archives and contemporary witnesses in various forms. Simultaneously, the aesthetics of the ordinary are an essential part of her work, the highlighting of seemingly mundane processes, like cleaning or standing on a chair, like minor observations: The decontextualisation of these conventional doings.
