Cold is the new gold

“COLD IS THE NEW GOLD” is a series of lecture performances in extremely cold conditions. The artists and scholars invited by FUTURAMA LAB will attempt to ironise various headlines around the concept of overheated spaces, such as “We used to have something called clothes”, “Only fools like it warm” and “Even potatoes are stored cold”. Theoretically and practically the lecture performances will demonstrate and explore the impacts on communication in freezing environments. As a final result a manifesto will be created in a collaboration of the performers and participants.

• • • 2G • Covid-19 • Please bring a certificate for your covid-19 vaccination or recovery with you.
• • • No heating • Please prepare for cold temperatures. The venue will not be heated, so wear as many textile layers as possible.
• • • No running water • If needed, please bring drinking water with you. Due to the lack of water, toilets can’t be provided in the venue. Toilets within 20 minutes walking distance can be used. Due to these circumstances pauses are planned in the schedule.
