Sculpture Course (Intensive)

Learn from scratch or develop your artistic practice. In this course, you will all the tricks and secrets of sculpting with clay. You will create three-dimensional forms with different types of clay and learn essential techniques hand building and modeling techniques like pinching, coiling and slab method as well as additive and subtractive techniques using specific clay shaping and carving tools. This is a highly engaging course that focuses on fundamentals of Sculpture and exploration of techniques. There will be emphasis on practical steps through technical demonstrations, critical discussions as well as working on collective and individual projects.
Each participant will be required to learn and utilize various techniques and realize minimum five individual projects in order to receive a course completion certificate.
Course acceptance:
This course is open to all interested and motivated participants from ages 16 and above. No previous knowledge or experience required.
Tools and supplies:
The workshop is equipped with all necessary tools and supplies for the course. Participants are welcome to take their works and individual projects home. The course fee does not include firing of clay works. Participants will be provided with additional information on resources for future use.
Course Instructor:
Zahra Mirza is an artist and art educator from Pakistan who has conducted several drawing and sculpture workshops in Vienna at The Vienna Workshop Gallery (February and April 2018) as well as with Art Education Students of Academy of Fine Arts (October 2017) and Community College of Kunsthalle Wien (July 2017).
