In her Gartensymphonie [Garden Symphony] series, Christa Biedermann provides a moving and fascinating insight into former, restored, and present-day gardens of artists. By chance, she happened to discover what was left of the garden that Gustav Klimt had worked in. Fascinated by the significance that this garden had for Klimt’s artistic oeuvre, she also visited the artist’s gardens of Max Liebermann, Hannah Höch, Christa Hauer, Robert Hammerstiel, Linde Waber, a.o. The series is complemented by a documentation of Christa Biedermann’s live performances from the 1970s until today. In In Lichtaufnahmen aus Hollywood [Light Recordings from Hollywood], the camera captures colors and light like in painting.
