Polyamory Sound Festival

Das ,Polyamory Sound Festival’ wurde 2010 von Lukas Kranzelbinder ins Leben gerufen und basiert auf der Idee, über eine bestimmte Zeitspanne mit mehreren Musikern aus verschiedenen Szenen gleichzeitig zu arbeiten. Es soll dabei vor allem eine Grundlage für einen musikalischen und kulturellen Austausch zwischen Künstlern aus unterschiedlichsten europäischen Metropolen bieten - und das in einer Form und Intensität, die sonst nur selten verwirklicht werden kann.
Im Rahmen von mehrtägigen Festivals - in einer oder mehreren aufeinander folgenden Städten - präsentiert ein bestimmter Pool von Musikern aus den jeweiligen Szenen Musik, die ganz bewusst keinen eindeutigen Genre-Stempel auf der Stirn trägt. Was im Zuge dieser Konzerte gezeigt wird, soll die verschiedenen Einflüsse der einzelnen Künstler, sowie ihren individuellen Zugang zur Musik widerspiegeln und ihnen dabei jeglichen Freiraum zur persönlichen Entfaltung lassen.

Das Konzept des ,Polyamory Sound Festivals’ ist es, mit der ersten Edition im Jahr 2010 eine starke Basis für kommende Projekte in den nächsten Jahren zu schaffen. Geplant sind 3-tägige Festivals dieser Art in so vielen europäischen Städten wie möglich, entweder gekoppelt, wie in diesem Fall, oder das ganze Jahr über verteilt. Die Marke ,Polyamory Sound’ soll als fixe Institution etabliert werden und längerfristig gesehen auf gesamteuropäischem Raum für scheuklappenfreie und multinationale Musik- und Kunstperformances stehen.

The “Polyamory Sound Festival” was created by Lukas Kranzelbinder with the aim of working with a number of musicians from various music scenes over a specific period of time. The Festival is intended to create a basis for musical and cultural exchange between artists from diverse European cities, in a form and at a level of intensity not often attainable under other circumstances.
At multi-day festivals in one or more cities, a specific pool of musicians from the respective scene presents music that is purposefully not confined to a specific genre. Instead, the influences of the individual musicians and their personal approaches to music are at the forefront of these concerts; the musicians are allowed space to develop their individual visions.
The concept of the Festival’s first edition in 2010 is to develop a strong basis for projects to follow in coming years. Three-day festivals in as many European cities as possible are planned, either linked with one another, as in this case, or spread over the entire year. The brand “Polyamory Sound” will be established as a fixed institution and over the the longer term will come to stand for music and arts performances without borders or preconceived notions Europe-wide.
