Speaking Walls - street marking in Budapest is a one night show based on the separate researches on street marking in Hungary made by Christine Schörkhuber and Kotun Viktor.
Viktor Kotun published with his fellow editor Ruszty László the Book “Street marking in Hungary”. Viktor will present the book and give a slide show presentation on stencils in the streets of Budapest.
The work ,, Speaking walls” by Christine Schörkhuber consists of small pieces of artificial wall, that show transferred stencils from the streets. Several people can be heard talking about backgrounds, stories, personal perspectives, street art and society in general. It was produced during a residence in Budapest - with support of Viktor.
The Authors will speak about various aspects of street marking as an art, as form of civil communication and as an appropriation of the public space. The speaking walls of Budapest reflect politics, social structure, culture and way of living in contemporary Hungary.
