Die Linked Data Camps sind eine Reihe informeller Zusammenkünfte mit dem Ziel Personen an einen Tisch zu bringen, die dem Konzept des “Web of Data” konkretes Leben verleihen. “Hands on” bei Anwendungen, Datenmodellen und Ontologien steht am Programm der zwei Tage Camp. Heavily inspired by the idea of the VoCamp, the Linked Data Camp is a
series of informal events where people can spend some dedicated time, discussing and working on the aforementioned aspects of an even better Web of Data, by designing and creating prototypes, vocabularies, mock-ups, or applications. People are asked to come together, to share their thoughts and to get hands on developing novel applications for
the Web of Data. The emphasis of the events is not on creating the perfect result, a new technology, ready-to-use services, or a detailed concept for a new application, but on discovering and creating new building blocks and concepts that are good enough for other people to build upon. Österreich verfügt über eine vitale Semantic Web Szene. Das Semantic Web Meetup ist der
Treffpunkt abseits von Kongressen und Podien - hier steht der informelle Austausch im Mittelpunkt. Ein Key-Note-Speaker sorgt ebenso für Diskussionsstoff, wie die Stand-Up-Präsentations aus dem Publikum.

We meet each other to discuss applications on top of the semantic web, the web of data and the “linking (open) data” effort of the W3C. We also discuss possible scenarios of a “future web” and the benefit end-users and companies have from a semantic web. This meetup is a hub between academia, research and industry.

Participation in both events is free of charge.
