Ali Zare: Healing through the pain

Before any humane reconstruction and re-embodiment, we need to face the void and uncertainty which exists within us; we need to experience the abstraction.
Healing through the pain as the definition of frustration, fear, and grief are demonstrated through the body and in human behaviour, and how they can fuel the human mind to go through the healing process.
I tried to create tension at the heart of this painting between the figure and the ground of the canvas.
The brutal realities behind the canvas and my post-war experiences as an artist, and as an individual, have influenced my works a lot. These works are fragile. My purpose has been to transfer the fragility I’ve experienced to the artwork itself. And to represent the vital transitions between light and dark, suffering and healing, or the other way around.
