Red Vienna

The art exhibition RED VIENNA presents the theme of menstruation through the works of seven artists who deal with menstruation in different artistic practices. On display are architectural, olfactory and sound installations, paintings with menstrual blood, photographic works, sculptures and video installations. The occasion of the exhibition is to critically illuminate gendered ‘domestication processes’, such as the displacement of menstruation into the domestic sphere, and to question the taboo in public space. For this purpose, a space for personal and social confrontation is to be created by providing accompanying artistic and didactic offers, such as workshops.
