Formafantasma – Cambio

Formafantasma, recently named design studio of the year at the prestigious Dezeen Awards 2020 and praised by the jury as “a highly articulate studio whose intellectual and ethical ambitions are the driving force behind their truly sophisticated and beautiful work,” will discuss the research and development of Cambio, their research-focused book and exhibition at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery in London, which unravel the global impact of the forestry industry. Cambio exposes the environmental impact of the extraction, production and distribution of wood to make products around the world and focuses on ecological concerns rather than on finished objects. Formafantasma will further examine this concept within the context of their research-driven design practice.

*The lecture is organised as part of the design studio ‘Culture in Residency, Sekirn, Wörthersee’ led by Prof. Tina Gregoric and Jakob Travnik, investigating the notion of ‘culture in residency’ as a way of facilitating meaningful, multi-species interactions and deepening our relationships with place through time.
