Talks – ORACLE and SACRIFICE in the woods

The performance ORACLE and SACRIFICE in the woods is created with the forest, with plants, fungi, roots, insects and deals with the ecology of the forest - its symbiotic ways of life. Which relations, constant transformations between creatures and substances are visible in the landscape of the forest?

Circular Ecologies will be the first talk on the background of ORACLE and SACRIFICE in the woods moderated by Claudia Bosse.

Forest ecologist, Douglas Godbold, will offer insight into the beauty of nature’s processes of transformation and cycles. Decompostition is always nutrient for growth of other living. The conversation will be completed by the guide Yohan Rangan from Rantepao on Sulawesi, Indonesia. He will talk about the death rituals in Toraja, which take place with the request for support of the deceased ancestors. There the dead are buried in stones so that they do not contaminate the soil.
