Galerie Kandlhofer is pleased to invite you to the closing event of G.T. PELLIZZI´s
solo exhibition “No Signal” with a unique musical experience

Known for collaborations with various artists such as Carlos Amorales for the last Venice Biennale, Wilfrido Terrazas composed and recorded a music piece in collaboration with G.T. Pellizzi.

The recorded piece is inspired by the rhythmic sounds of the loom, which is a very physical and musical exercise as well as by the sine wave noise that accompanies the test patterns when they are broadcasted.
While having the possibility to see G.T. Pellizzi´s exhibition for the last time, your visit will be accompanied by Terrazas` musical piece:

Wilfrido Terrazas (Camargo, 1974) is a Mexican flutist active since the early 1990s, whose career spans performance, commissioning, collaboration, improvisation, composition and pedagogy. His work focuses on finding points of convergence between notated and improvised music, and in exploring innovative approaches to collaboration and collective creation.

In the summer of 2017, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Music at the University of California, San Diego.
He is a founding member and Herald of the Mexico City-based improvisation collective Generación Espontánea since 2006. As an interpreter, Wilfrido Terrazas has performed over 350 world premieres, and has been a member of Liminar ensemble since 2012. As a composer, his main interest is the exploration of dialogues between composition, improvisation and performance. As such, he has written over 60 works for diverse instrumental forces.
