We are excited to invite you to this year’s opening of curated by – the gallery festival with international curators in Vienna!
Twenty-four galleries will be opening their doors from 11 AM – 7 PM on Saturday, September 5 & 12 – 5 PM on Sunday, September 6, for the official opening of curated by.

Since its inception twelve years ago, the curated by gallery festival has evolved into a central contemporary art event in Vienna. Integrating both established and young galleries, the festival has showcased contemporary protagonists chosen by international curators on an overarching theme.

This year’s theme HYBRIDS examines the dissolution of boundaries between artistic practice and its spheres of activity. London-based writer and art historian Orit Gat has explored the theme for the festival in the form of an essay. “Dissolving boundaries is also a reminder that the task of the day is to look at accepted truths, stories told, and told again, and reassess them. There is freedom in that.”
