Dieser Tage wäre im Österreichischen Filmmuseum IN PERSON. PHILIPP FLEISCHMANN auf dem Programm gestanden. Ganz entgegen seiner herkömmlichen Arbeitspraxis (analoger Projektionen) und in Kollaboration mit dem Musiker Lukas Lauermann stellt er seine situative Arbeit THE INVISIBLE CINEMA 3 SEEN BY LUKAS LAUERMANN dem digitalen Äther zur Verfügung.

“One of the many things I learned visiting the Austrian Film Museum is to never confuse an original analog film work with its digital facsimile. My whole image making practice is bounded to the celluloid. Therefore, images will be seen on a screen only if a filmstrip is running through a projector. Period. My work can not articulate itself in a digital transfer. If transferred into the digital realm, my work becomes something else. It has to be something else. The existing work becomes new material. This is exactly the moment where it gets interesting again.” (PF)
The Vienna based cellist and composer Lukas Lauermann works with artists and musicians as diverse as Donauwellenreiter, Saint Genet, Alicia Edelweiss, Soap&Skin, Gelitin, André Heller or Der Nino aus Wien among others. He also performs as a solo artist and writes music for the theatre and film industry. His music oscillates between the intellectual earnestness of classical concert halls and the directness of pop music. - www.lukaslauermann.net
