A metro ride. A mountain. Flats carved into a pile. Videos of you. Videos of a housing block. “Compilation” follows two protagonists to the outskirts of a city. Trying to depict each other in a housing block praised for its metaphysical qualities, they temporarily place themselves in an aestheticised fantasy of a reality that is not theirs.

Anna Barbieri (*1989) works at the intersection between architecture, video, video installation and text. Recurring themes of her practice and research focus on questions of architectural representation and identity uncovering the entanglement between spatiality, politics and gender. Video works have been shown in exhibitions and screenings in Vienna, Zurich and Milan. She lives and works in Vienna.
