Another Time and Place

Off the Hook is an annual exhibition project by DobraVaga Gallery in Ljubljana, bringing together local up-and-coming artists. Following exhibitions in Berlin and Budapest, they are presenting the third project edition in Vienna: Another Time and Place.

The exhibition is characterised by the return of the authors to the most basic perception of their environment, the awareness of the processes of remembering, and the search for those points in which perception and memory create new, virtual spaces. These offer the possibility for pausing and the idiosyncratic appropriation of a space and time that seems foreign to many.

Dalea Kovačec, Janja Kosi, Manuel Fabris, Monika Slemc, Neža Perovšek and Romana Pehar focus on their environment with a strong awareness of the fleeting nature of human perception and the fickleness of our memory, and with a pronounced ear for the peripheries that, as a rule, escape perception and reflection.

About DobraVaga:
DobraVaga is an exhibition and project space, a sales gallery and open studio of various artistic languages, styles and content located in Ljubljana. The program places an emphasis on the aesthetic reflections of the younger generation of artists, the generation that represents the junction of (possi/a)bilities, explorations and current contexts of artistic production in the modern age. The mission of the new artistic initiative is to encourage creativity that does not accede to the established definition that the art world depends only on the classic artistic market. That is why DobraVaga focuses on new, engaged and innovative formats, using them to actively support, encourage and promote fresh releases of artistic stories and original artistic practices.
