For its third instalment Mirage will inhabit the private park of the Viertel Zwei for one afternoon. The location is an urban model increasingly found worldwide where corporate, social and private life seemingly coexist. Three years since their debut in the 4th district of Vienna, a group show will be set on the banks of the lake that centre the newly developed district forming an arena around which the artists exhibit, surrounding an artificial body of water.

In its previous iterations, Mirage invited artists to situate their work in the ambiguous terrain between public space and areas of privacy, framing itself in forms of escapism and cheap hedonism. This year, every artist is invited to respond to the area of Viertel Zwei, what was once the historic location of the 1873 World Fair, eventually destroyed by a fire in 1937. This area continues to lap against the uncertain shores of commerce, leisure and living, anchored by a culture of life and design defined by capital.

Subsequently the artists works will be gathered at Georg Kargl Permanent for the finissage of Stafett @ Permanent, on the 4.9.2019 from 19:00 (Schleifmühlgasse 17, 1040 Vienna).
