Vostokanalytica present “The First Contact”, a show by Eren İleri and Firas Shehadeh, with a performance by Asifeh, at the new artist-run space in Gstaltmeyrgasse.

Eren İleri (born 1988, Istanbul) is an artist, working with photography, found material, installation and artist books. In 2012 he co-founded the artist collective YxS KOOP, consisting of artists, architects, musicians and designers. Active between 2012 and 2014 they organized and participated in public interventions, events and exhibitions in Istanbul, Berlin, Vienna and Sinop. His most recent work is an exploration on new methodologies of appropriation and deals with contemporary futurist ideas and positions. http://erenileri.info/

Firas Shehadeh (b. 1988, Amman) is an artist based in Vienna, raised between Saudi Arabia and Jordan, from a background that he developed as a resident of a Palestinian refugee camp in Amman. His work explores his relationship with the space and the influence of authority on the alteration of the collective consciousness and identity. He is interested in post-colonial effects, technology and history. http://firasshehadeh.com

Asifeh (Stormtrap) is a beatmaker and rapper based in Vienna and Ramallah. Asifeh’s music consists of rap vocals, sampled material, and original compositions using all kinds of new and old abandoned technologies.
