‘Heavenless Needs explores the unwillingness to be subordinated by dominant stigmas still present in society and by the appointed guardians of public morals while bringing up awareness about how the state and health structures still fail to support women in their various needs. Through a journey of self- exposure Barbara positions herself and the ones close to her in all subjects of her paintings in an attempt to look for empathy and express dissatisfaction towards the lack of support towards abortion, mental health, and female needs while dealing with subjects of loss, betrayal and pain. Presenting an ode to the driving forces of endurance, hedonism and sexual desire.
