Hannah Perry & Simeon Barclay
‚It´s not there till it´s there‘

kuratiert von Robert Sheffield

Hannah Perry (*1984) is a British artist working mainly in installation, sculpture print and video. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Arts, Perry uses a network of personal references to continuously generate and manipulate videos, sounds, images and objects, exploring intimate memory in a hyper-technological society. Guided by music, repetition and deceleration, Perry reveals youth and femininity as defined through images as well as beholder of desires.

Recent exhibitions include: ‘Rage Fluids’ at Künstlerhaus - Halle für Kunst & Medien, Graz (2018), ‘Viruses Worth Spreading’, Arsenal Contemporary, New York (2017); ‘100 Problems’ at Contemporary Fine Arts, Berlin (2016); ‘I feel we think bad’ at Arsenal Montreal, Canada (2016); Mercury Retrograde, Seventeen, London (2015); ‘You’re gonna be great’ at Jeanine Hofland, Amsterdam (2015); ‘Private settings: Art After the Internet’ at MOMA Warsaw, Poland (2014); ‘New Order II’ at Saatchi Gallery, London (2014); ‘A sense of things’ at Zabludowicz Collection, London (2014); ‘Stedelijk at Trouw’ at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2013); ‘Hannah Perry’ at Zabludowicz Collection, London (2012).

Simeon Barclay (*1975) is an artist living and working in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. He recieved his MFA from Goldsmiths College, London, a PG Dip at Chelsea College of Art & Design, London and a BA from Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds.
Barclay is invested in the dynamic nature of language, the mediated image and objects to both seduce and provoke. These impulses are understood in relation to the human condition, an existence Barclay perceives as being caught up in the tumultuous, unfixed process of situating and defining ourselves within culture and tradition.

Recent exhibitions include: ‘We Are Where We Are’, Baltic39, Newcastle (2018); ‘Repeats (Figures and Infrastructures), SixtyEight Art Institute, Copenhagen (2018); ‘Art Now: The Hero Wears Clay Shoes’, Tate Britain, London (2017); ‘They Don’t Like It Up Em’’, Cubitt, London (2016); ‘Exit’, Rodolphe Janssen, Brussels (2017); ‘Houses are Really Bodies’, Cubitt, London (2017); ‘On Longing’, Arcadia Missa, New York (2017) ‘Wagstaff’s’, Mostyn, Llandudno (2017); Liverpool Biennial, Liverpool (2016).
He is the recipient of the Liverpool Biennial Associate Artist Award.
