In the exhibition BREAKING PATTERNS, four artists explore contemporary patterns in our society on a microscopic and macroscopic level with focus on social and individual structures, economic shifts and gender roles. The patterns on a visual level refer to the socioeconimal structures that surround us. Whether it is the condensed organic microstructures in Pauline Jocher’s prints, Michaela Putz’ psychographic / topographic landscape drawings, Giulio Paolini’s photographies of empty shop windows at night or Bárbara Moura’s digital drawings with political impact,
the pieces shown are about breaking conformism and challenging our reading and seeing habits.
