Martín Escalante (Lakewood, USA, 1983) photographer, filmmaker and self taught musician began working on the short films of his brother Amat in 1998. He has since worked on four feature film with his brother, the last to be released was Heli (best director, Cannes, 2013) where was director of casting and the making of and still photography. In 2012 he started his label Sploosh Records on which he publishes his music as a soloist and collaborator. Exploring pure noise with an unplugged modified alto saxophone, in 2014 he began touring frequently with his duo Caracol Carnívoro culminating with an 11 concert tour in Mexico along side the Norwegian rock band Moe. In 2014 he published the second issue of Meche Magazine which contains his still photography work (for adults only). In 2016 while working in Oslo on the soundtrack of his brother’s new film “The Untamed” (to premier at the Venice Biennale in just a few weeks) at Lasse Marhaug’s Best Studio in Oslo he also records a duo album with Peruvian bassist Teté Leguía and a solo saxophone album to be released at the end of 2016, the later also produced by Marhaug.
Mauricio Valdés San Emeterio is a composer / media artist from Mexico city, Mexico / Ljubljana, Slovenia.
His career has been developed around different artistic areas, mainly near acoustic, electroacoustic and experimental music, but also very close to sound installations. His catalog includes works for solo instrument, ensemble, mixed works, guided improvisation, stage arts and films. His works have been presented in 18 countries within the official program of festivals, conferences and symposia of music, media and sound art.”
