2 new video series by László László Révész, Budapest

In these works Révész deals with the apathy and the loss of hope in the contemporary attitude towards the current problems in Hungary. Révész offers two series: The animated series, which contains six videos, made in 2010-13, focusing on the escapism from the present. These animation études are built on the movement of light in a retrograde, experimental strategy using analogue light stencils. The other set contains five non-animated videos made in 2011-13, and are more connected to the state of ‘what comes after apathy?’.

The works will be introduced by Maja and Reuben Fowkes from the Translocal Institute for Contemporary Art, London and Budapest. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion. The event is hosted by KulturAXE Vienna in collaboration with MUSA Museum auf Abruf and Delle Association, Budapest
