A Knot For Every Memory

Growing up with time; change from dawn to dusk; changes in seasons are some inspiring changes in spite of monotones routine of days in ones life. This work is about changes and memories of the past. I will prepare artworks using ropes to knot. Every knot in the work will be in remembrance of an incidence in life. Every knot will speak of a story.

Finally, I will wear the work of art as a costume. Human emotions and art are universal, while the traditions and memories are geographically and personally based. In art, personal emotion can be elevated to universal emotion. When somebody wears these artworks with personal tales woven into them the tales become the wearer’s personal tales in a way. Wearers can relate to similar situations in their lives.

Through the performance, by wearing the artworks as costumes, more stories will be put into the knots. Finally, the works will become relics of the whole process and travel back with me. They become visual memories of the past.
