Ryo MARUYAMA
Born in 1945 at Nagano Japan. Studied environmental engineering at Kyoto University. Received scolarship of French Government for environmental study from 1969 to 1971.

At the same time he studied western music history at the Sorbonne of Paris. His artistic activities vary very much from composition in western traditional style for instruments and voices to sound instalation or performance in collaboration with visual artists. His recent interest is to show his solo performance with his own video and sound improvisation.
Soundscape and imaginary landscape presented by performance of sound, video and physical movement which goes and returns freely between the
concious and the unconcious of a man. Video-music Theatre is his own naming for his performance theatre with live sound performance along with video image and recorded sound. He has been playing this tipe of performance for more than ten years aound the world.
