‘Do you have two AAA batteries?’ – a drawer sliding open, objects clinking as hands rummage through their depths – the promise of pleasure and the failure of technology. When batteries are dead, the past use-value and the present state of disrepair collide in a moment of contemplation.
Vanitas vanitatum, omnia vanitas.
A sliced piece of fruit, glistening with freshness, exists eternally on the brink of decay. Not unlike a baroque still life painting, the exhibited works present objects as trajectories, dynamic processes, always in a state of becoming.
