Join us on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM at philomena+ for a special event featuring a guided tour, an artist talk, and a cozy get-together.
The collaborative exhibition project “A Fable for Tomorrow” explores the post-anthropocene landscape in the aftermath of the worst nuclear disaster. The works of two artists take center stage:
Imran Channa (Shikarpur, Sindh, Pakistan; lives in Amsterdam) utilizes archival materials and game development software to craft immersive 3D landscapes. These speculative environments guide viewers through the monstrous architecture of a nuclear accident site, imagining a future after a meltdown.
Kateryna Lysovenko (Kyiv, Ukraine; lives in Vienna) references the Red Forest, the exclusion zone in Chernobyl post-1986. Her paintings depict nature’s paradoxical resurgence in this irradiated zone, where fauna and flora not only survive but thrive.
During the event, philomena+ director Christine Bruckbauer will introduce the space and exhibition, followed by a talk with Kateryna Lysovenko about her work.
After the program, enjoy informal discussions with Hot Punch and Christmas bakery.
