Philipp Hanich: I Can't Hide Your Love Forever

I CAN´T HIDE YOUR LOVE FOREVER is a collection. A collection of traces, shadows, remains, deposits, scars, items, pictures, objects and artifacts. What those parts of the collection have in common is the fact, that they were once judged precious. They are all part of a greater whole, hints of an identity, fragments of a personality, a story or an emotional state. The gathering doesn?t only remain on objects, but is also aproaching feelings and perception.
The installation is the temporary result of these trackings. As an artist Philipp Hanich sees himself in the role of an investigator, hunting for traces. In this case the investigative work doesn?t serve to establish the truth, but is necessary, to make those traces visible. At the same time he is an alchemist and a pirate, hunting in the deep sea of both, art history and every day life. His studio becomes a laboratory. Experiments and coincidences lead Philipp Hanich to something new. He uses the knowledge, the results and the findings of many others and places them in a different context.
