Talk starts at 7 pm, doors open from 6.30 pm

The work of Zurich-based artist Jasmine Gregory (*1987 in Washington, D.C.) develops around various sets of motifs, artistic gestures as well as assemblages to explore the tensions of artistic production, history of paintings as well as subjectivity in how it circulates in institutional and commercial contexts, thereby addressing absurd and abstracted notions of culture and commodity. Her paintings and sculptures draw from a complex spectrum of historic and contemporary reference points, such as baroque still life, portraiture, advertisement. Recent solo exhibitions include Mommie Dearest, Instituto Svizzero (Milan), Heirlooms, King’s Leap (New York), Home Improvements, Park View / Paul Soto (Brussels), Trouble at Casa Amor, Karma International (Zurich). She is a finalist for the Swiss Art Awards and has a solo show coming up at CAPC Musée d’art Contemporain de Bordeaux in fall 2023.

Marijana Schneider is an art historian and Curator for Contemporary art at Museum der Moderne Salzburg. Her work focuses on expanded definitions of corporeality and sculpture from a feminist perspective. She curated and co-curated solo presentations by Jasmina Cibic, Yinka Shonibare CBE, Fiona Tan, and worked on solo exhibitions by Anna Boghiguian and Marisa Merz among others. She curated exhibitions with the collections of the Museum der Moderne Salzburg and the Generali Foundation Collection. Prior to that Schneider was Assistant to the Head of Collection at the Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt am Main. She is currently working on the exhibition Maria Bartuszová, in collaboration with Tate Modern, which will open in Salzburg in July, and on the solo show of performance artist Rose English (2024).
