As part of the finissage of the exhibition ‘Fading. Echoes from the past’, Karl Salzmann will use the sounds heard in his installation on site as the basis for a low frequency sound intervention.

The sounds of the intervention are based on a mobile phone recording that has taken on a life of its own. It includes the sounds of a farewell ceremony, some of which are very intimate, characterized by collective prayer, communal singing, local music groups and brass instruments.

In his intervention he will weave these into a collage that, by transposing this recording into the low frequency range, tries to bring the gallery space and the listeners to a collective vibration.
