Our Jahresgaben (“annual gifts”) exhibition is a vital annual format to support local productions and Kevin Space artists and collaborators. The Jahresgaben enable anyone interested to acquire works of art at affordable prices, while the entire profit is split in equal parts between the artists and Kevin Space. In this sense, the Jahresgaben are both a platform of visibility and income for artists associated with Kevin Space, as well as financial support of the activities of the Kunstverein.

Our members have the opportunity to preview and purchase works in advance. Supporting members, in addition, receive a 10% discount on purchases.

The works can also be viewed on site from December 3, 2022 to January 28, 2023.

Rosa Aiello
Traffic

Kevin Space is pleased to present Rosa Aiello’s newly commissioned installation, Traffic, comprising sound, video, sculpture, and collage. Aiello’s work draws from films, books, online databases and found objects to form a deeply personal repertoire, at once intimate, and alienating. She builds narratives by exploring fundamental ambiguities—both the comfort and the oppression—of social and actual structures. Departing from three seemingly disparate, yet intertwined, narratives and geographies, Traffic unearths mechanisms of translation and circulation that are the result of linguistic, spatio-temporal, as well as material compressions in globalized lived experiences.

Rosa Aiello, (*1987, Canada) is an artist, writer, and filmmaker. Her works have been shown at various institutions and galleries, including Kölnischer Kunstverein, Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt; Kunsthalle Zürich, Fluentum, Berlin, Cell Project Space, London; Bureau des Réalités, Brussels; and Stadtgalerie Bern, among others. Recent solo exhibitions include DREI, Cologne; Arcadia Missa, London; Lodos, Mexico City, and Southern Alberta Art Gallery, Lethbridge. Her writing has been published in Triple Canopy, Starship, CanadianArt, Art Papers, Public Journal, and F. R. David.
