A large-scale immersive installation by Berlin-based artist Jérôme Chazeix.
Photographs are incorporated into large digital collages to form wallpaper that encompasses the entire exhibition space as a Gesamtkunstwerk (a total piece of art), transforming the space into an experience. Bodies in spiritual, sacrificial, and sculptural postures form a frieze that envelops the gallery space; video loops with music and sculptures complement the setting. Numerous references and quotations refer to body-based and spiritual practices in different civilizations and are connected to our present in an explosive and poetic mix.

Jérôme Chazeix builds complex installations that create hybrid parallel worlds. He combines and superimposes different mediums in order to reveal sets in which the public dives into total immersion and in which actors, through alternately choreographed or spontaneous performances, take possession of the device. These works of art are meant to be “total” in the sense that performers and audiences both become protagonists of parallel worlds finding a match in the objects around them. The public gets carried away, enveloped, in search of meaning, halfway between new age desire and social reality.
