Sohrab Shahid Saless’ first film after emigrating from Iran to Germany revolves around the everyday life of Husseyin, a Turkish worker in West Berlin in the 1970s. Shot in just 13 days with amateur actors from Kreuzberg, one of the most important representatives of the Iranian New Wave tells the story of a social existence struggling with the pressure of uniformity. Here, the factory and the home become the pillars of a structure whose contours cut right into the zones of intimacy.
