On a Trivial Pursuit card media artist Peter Moosgaard reads about the Cargo cults of Melanesia: Local tribes on Vanuatu built giant airplanes from wood, carved headphones and radios from bamboo in an imitation of locally stationed US troops. By emulating these military practices the rituals were supposed to attract planes, carrying godlike cargo to the island, bringing happiness and prosperity to its people. Moosgaard decides to transfer this strategy to the western art world. Shot as a video diary, Supercargo tracks Cargo art on its way from art school to its commercial breaktrough.
