Explicitly not abstracting real world aesthetics but rather completely detaching itself from them allows KONKRETE KUNST to establish a immediate way of perception. The absence of articulated references of the collectively experienced in appearance enables the viewer to associate individually constructed references. This specific trait of KONKRETE KUNST has never worn off since it’s conception as the world we live in is based on one basic, completely made up & constructed agreement : that two things can be the same, that 1 is 1.
Timm Ulrich’s „Bild mit Maßlinien“ pushes this constructivist assumption even further by raising the question of what happens if colors, shapes and measurements – even when experienced – are really just that.
