Alcoholism
Alcoholics worship many gods. They worship their gods in in places called “bars.” When an Alcoholic goes to a bar, he must ask the “bartender,” a medium between the bottomless world of the gods and the empty world of the Alcoholic, to pour him a “drink” (the gods are also called “drinks”). And then the worshipper will request the drink with which he would like to hold council. For example, it would not be unusual for an Alcoholic suffering from depression of temptation to request to speak to Jack. A compassionate drink. There are thousands of other drinks which the Bartender can provide the Alcoholic with: Cuervo (the god of worms), Kessler (the god of bulls), Stoli (the god of screwdrivers), etc.. etc..
When an Alcoholic has finished talking to their drink, he or she must enter the confession box and leave an offering in the altar or on the floor near the altar–as long as it’s close. It is considered bad faith to leave one’s offering outside the confession box.
