On 23 April 2020 at 6 pm (CET), we have the honour to welcome Indian Architect and Pritzker Prize Laureate Balkrishna Doshi for a Live Talk with our director Mateo Kries. They will speak about the current situation in India, about Doshi’s collaborations with Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn since the 1950s, and about architecture that is made for people, not for profit.

Balkrishna Doshi (*26 August 1927 in Pune, India) is one of the foremost pioneers of modern architecture in his home country. In 2019, the Vitra Design Museum had the pleasure to show an extensive exhibition on the architect’s life work with curator Khushnu Hoof, his granddaughter. The exhibition is a project of the Vitra Design Museum and the Wüstenrot Foundation in cooperation with the Vastushilpa Foundation. The exhibition is travelling worldwide and is currently pausing @architekturzentrum_wien
