Other-worldly creatures, grotesque bodies and sacred scenes are at the heart of the new exhibition entitled “Beyond the Golden Gates”.
From Friday the 13th – Saturday 21st, Ekaterina Kormilitsyna will present her works playing with the underworld, afterlife and the strange entities that roam those lands. Devils, Monsters, Angels; all pay a visit as this show engages with the constructions of theological narratives, the sacred, and depictions of otherworldliness.

Visit the ethereal and the macabre in painting pieces that use light elements within themselves, drawing from stained glass and religious iconography, and in charcoal paintings and sketches depicting monsters and nightmares.

Her work is part of a wider research into fear constructions of sacred and unholy bodies as well as research into curation of paintings as installations and sculptures.
