Post Mortem “MarZ: Tactical Base Defense”

SUBOTRON pro games

To Mars and beyond.

Miriam Egli Creative Director, Game Design, UI/UX Designer
Marc Egli Development Lead, Programmer, 3D Artist

This Post Mortem will give insights into the adventurous flight of doorfortyfour creating and releasing their debut game “MarZ: Tactical Base Defense” after four years of development. “MarZ” mixes RTS and Tower Defense elements with the goal of protecting your base from undead hordes, while also uncovering the hidden history of the Red Planet.
The talk will focus on a hesitant 1.5-year early access phase, a very emotional launch and a hectic post launch phase. Making a game requires a lot of discipline, but finishing and releasing your game is definitive the royal discipline which is really hard to master. The developers will show interesting numbers, talk about what went right and what went wrong, the highs and lows during development and which mistakes they would make again because they were worth it.
Founded in 2013 by Miriam and Marc Egli, doorfortyfour as a small 2 person indie studio will also talk about the challenge developing a game at home as a married couple.
