Otto invites…is the new exhibition series at Hotel Altstadt Vienna.

At the premiere we will display large images by New York based photographer Joan Lobis Brown, taken in the spectacular light of the world-renown Hamptons that has inspired so many artists.

…Some say the light is so extraordinary because it bounces from the ocean to the ponds, to the lagoons to the bay. Another way of saying this is that the east-northeast axis of Long Island, where the sun rises over the ocean and sets over the bay causes the light to be refracted. A different thesis about the quality of light is based on lack of cloud cover over such a small land mass which results in clear skies that produce morning and evening pinks, oranges and lavenders.” (Joan Lobis Brown)
