Exhibition Opening: Analog Coherence

We are very pleased to invite you to the next exhibition opening in the Photo Cluster Gallery.
Severin Koller`s Streetphotographs often seem surreal to the observer. The idea that his photos were often taken freehand or in just a few fractions of a second is often hard to believe. The compositions look more like very complicated and staged film sets. Through his work as a professional photographer and videographer, he often changes his surroundings and often finds himself in a kind of outsider situation, as an intruder in a society where he merely acts as an observer.

Analog Coherence shows the cross section of a project that has been going on for many years.
“Analog Coherence are juxtapositions and small series of photographs that have been captured over the span of 15 years. „I don’t walk the streets with an idea or plan in mind. It interferes with my constant readiness, that I need to be able see what is in front of me“. With this approach, it is almost impossible to create a recognizable series of photographs.

Analog Coherence is an approach to find these siblings, where situations or constellations represent a similar idea or essence. Sometimes these moments happen right after one another, sometimes there are more than 10 years and thousands of miles in between them. It is almost like playing memory, with more than 50.000 negatives.”
