[Blue Planet] :::

A satellite view, from outer space, shows us the ethereal blue halo enveloping the Earth from the cosmic expanse as an interplay of sunlight and the tapestry of our planet’s atmosphere. This enigmatic aura, a cosmic whisper alike, emerges from the abundance of water in our earthly refugee, casting a spell of wonder upon the canvas of the cosmos, summed up in nomos Planeta Azul. As we gaze upward into the sky while remaining rooted in Mother Earth, a quick reality check reminds us of the here and now. The artistic framework of [Blue Planet] expands from a domestic pilot project to satellite loci, resonating with our relationship to the infinite possibilities of the universe, climate, and nature. It fosters dialogue and solidarity through the synergy of exchanges between artists and an attentive, participatory audience, raising awareness of this urgent call from and to nature.

DISCURSO:
“Imagine narrowing down the plane, drawing a line or curve that steers clear of the point of inflection. Imagine finding a hope, thirsty for truth, that offers glimpses of wings ready to soar. We know that Mother Earth has no Planet ‘B.’ As deserts expand, the Arctic warms, permafrost melts, and we discuss the fragility of coral reefs, the preciousness of water, and dream of dolphins, camels, lovebirds, and butterflies—we remain within this continuum of momentum. This includes rising sea levels, increasingly acidic oceans, disease, economic loss, human migration, conflict, and the migration of other beings.

Children, wake up! You are the world; you are the future.

In Slow Wave, we question whether we can construct micro-narratives that capture the affected memory of life on Earth and the changes in biodiversity. Reflecting on decolonial approaches to planetary coexistence, we believe in the power of poetic forms to intervene in reality, to create presence and awareness, and to activate our surroundings—here, there, where we are, where we were, and where we will be.”

FRAMEWORK:

SLOW WAVE is an evolving artistic initiative that creates open, interstitial encounters, inviting reflection on contemporary modes of production, climate in its broadest sense, and the post-pandemic landscape. The project draws inspiration from the vastness of nature and the diverse physical and virtual environments we inhabit, leaving traces as we coexist and interact.

This artistic format fluidly occupies both physical and virtual spaces, moving seamlessly from interior to exterior realms. SLOW WAVE unfolds as a collective mosaic of artistic expressions, featuring video contributions that expand into installation, performance, and hybrid art practices. By transcending traditional classifications, binary codes, gender distinctions, and media boundaries, the project nurtures a diverse range of artistic voices.

At its core, SLOW WAVE is an open platform, embracing a plurality of artistic genres and envisioning inclusive futures. It seeks to learn from nature and from the variety of artistic approaches fostering a peaceful coexistence on Planet Earth.
